Then the school year actually begins.

Schedules change, classes are shortened, assemblies appear, supplies go missing, and suddenly the beautiful plan you made in August needs to become flexible very quickly.

That is why the Artastic Collective Art Curriculum Membership was created.

The Artastic Collective gives educators access to a growing library of art lessons, teaching resources, planning support, and professional development for Kindergarten through Grade 9.

A FLEXIBLE ART CURRICULUM FOR REAL CLASSROOMS

The Artastic Collective is not designed as one rigid curriculum that every educator must follow in exactly the same order.

Instead, it gives you an organized library of resources that you can use in the way that works best for your students, schedule, supplies, and teaching style.

You may want to plan an entire term before the school year begins.

You might organize your lessons around the Elements of Art and Principles of Design.

You might create an artist-study rotation, build themed units, add seasonal lessons, or simply choose one project at a time as the year unfolds.

The Artastic Collective gives you a strong starting point without taking away your creativity as an educator.

You can use the lessons as they are, adapt them to suit your students, or use them as inspiration for your own teaching ideas.

The goal is simply to help you spend less time beginning from a blank page.

ART LESSONS FOR KINDERGARTEN THROUGH GRADE 9

Inside the membership, you will find lessons and resources for students from Kindergarten through Grade 9.

This makes the Artastic Collective especially useful for educators who teach several grades, travel between schools, teach mixed-age groups, or homeschool children at different developmental levels.

You can explore one shared concept across several grades while choosing lessons that are appropriate for each group.

For example, several classes may all explore line, colour, pattern, an artist, or a seasonal theme without completing the exact same artwork.

This helps create consistency across your program while still keeping expectations developmentally appropriate.

It can also make long-term planning feel much more organized.

TEACH REAL ART CONCEPTS THROUGH CREATIVE PROJECTS

The Artastic Collective is filled with colourful, engaging projects, but the goal is not simply to create something attractive for the classroom wall.

The lessons are designed to help students understand and apply real art concepts.

Students can explore the Elements of Art, including line, shape, colour, texture, form, value, and space.

They can also work with the Principles of Design, including pattern, balance, contrast, movement, rhythm, emphasis, unity, and variety.

A lesson might begin with a fun animal, landscape, artist, or theme, but the learning goes deeper than the subject of the finished artwork.

Students may explore how different lines create texture, how colours create mood, how patterns develop visual rhythm, or how artists use contrast to create a focal point.

This helps students understand not only what they are creating, but why artists make particular choices.

ARTISTS AND ART HISTORY

One of the most exciting parts of teaching art is helping students discover how many different ways there are to create.

Artists come from different cultures, backgrounds, places, and periods of history. They work with different materials, explore different ideas, and develop unique ways of seeing the world.

Inside the Artastic Collective, you can find lessons connected to artists, art history, art movements, cultures, and creative ideas.

Students can learn about an artist, examine their artwork, discuss what they notice, and explore the concepts or techniques connected to that artist’s work.

They can then use those ideas as inspiration for their own original artwork.

The goal is not to create a classroom filled with thirty identical copies.

The goal is to help students understand an artist’s ideas and then make creative choices of their own.

Having the artist information, teaching support, and project resources already prepared also saves an enormous amount of research and planning time.

NEW LINE AND COLOUR ART LESSONS

New line and colour art lessons have been added to the Artastic Collective for the 2026 art year.

These resources help students explore two of the most important Elements of Art through engaging projects created for different grade levels.

Line lessons may introduce straight, curved, wavy, zigzag, broken, thick, thin, horizontal, vertical, diagonal, and expressive lines.

Students can explore how artists use line to create movement, direction, pattern, detail, texture, and emotion.

Colour lessons may introduce primary and secondary colours, warm and cool colours, colour mixing, colour wheels, complementary colours, contrast, mood, and expression.

The projects give students a clear way to apply what they are learning while creating artwork that feels exciting and achievable.

NEW FOR 2026: DISCOVERING DINOSAURS

The 2026 Discovering Dinosaurs Grand Bundle has also been added to the Artastic Collective.

Dinosaurs are one of those rare themes that can immediately capture the attention of an entire group.

Young students are fascinated by the shapes, sizes, teeth, fossils, and prehistoric environments. Older students can explore texture, movement, anatomy, scientific discovery, and imaginative reconstruction.

The Discovering Dinosaurs resources can be used as a full themed unit or added individually throughout the year.

They are especially useful for combining art with science, reading, research, nature, history, and imaginative learning.

You might use the bundle with an elementary science unit, a homeschool dinosaur study, an art camp, or simply when your students need a theme that will immediately get them excited to create.

Because adding dinosaurs to the lesson plan is generally a very reliable classroom-management strategy.

Not officially proven, but extremely convincing.

THEMES, HOLIDAYS, AND SEASONAL ART

The Artastic Collective also includes lessons connected to themes, animals, nature, cultures, holidays, and the seasons.

You can find resources for back to school, autumn, Halloween, winter, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, spring, Easter, and the end of the school year.

There are also themed collections connected to topics such as oceans, space, rainforests, Arctic environments, deserts, growth mindset, social-emotional learning, and different countries and cultures.

These resources can make it easier to connect art with classroom learning, homeschool units, student interests, and the rhythm of the school year.

Instead of starting a brand-new search every time the calendar changes, you can return to the library and choose something that fits.

SKETCHBOOKS, DRAWING, CERAMICS, AND SCULPTURE

A strong art program should give students opportunities to explore many different creative processes.

Not every class needs to result in one large finished artwork.

Students also need time to practise, experiment, sketch, test ideas, solve problems, and build confidence.

Inside the Artastic Collective, you can find sketchbook activities, drawing resources, creative prompts, ceramics, sculpture, and three-dimensional art lessons.

Sketchbook activities can support drawing skills, observation, brainstorming, reflection, early-finisher work, and creative routines.

Ceramics and sculpture lessons can help students explore form, texture, balance, construction, and three-dimensional design.

These different areas allow you to build more variety into your art year and give students a broader range of artistic experiences.

READY-TO-USE TEACHING SUPPORT

The exact contents vary between resources, but lessons inside the Artastic Collective may include lesson plans, teaching slides, step-by-step instructions, student handouts, artist information, vocabulary, critical-thinking prompts, reflections, rubrics, assessment tools, drawing guides, and video demonstrations.

You are not simply given a picture of a finished artwork and expected to reverse-engineer the entire lesson.

The resources are designed to help you introduce the concept, explain the process, guide student thinking, and support reflection and assessment.

You can print student pages, display instructional slides, teach from the lesson plan, and adapt the lesson to suit your available time and materials.

This gives you a strong foundation while still allowing you to make the lesson your own.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR ART EDUCATORS

The Artastic Collective also includes support for the educator behind the lessons.

Members receive access to the Classroom and Art Teacher Growth Course, which includes approximately eight hours of professional-development learning.

The course supports educators with topics such as long-term planning, classroom routines, organization, assessment, reflection, classroom management, and building student confidence.

You can work through the course at your own pace and return to the material whenever you need additional support.

Members can also access planning resources, webinars, replays, ongoing lesson additions, and the private Artastic Collective community.

The goal is for the membership to feel like more than a digital folder.

It should feel like somewhere you can go when you need a lesson, a new idea, a clearer plan, or support from other educators who understand what teaching art is actually like.

PLAN YOUR YEAR WITHOUT LOSING YOUR ENTIRE SUMMER

You may be completely capable of creating your own art lessons and curriculum.

Most educators are incredibly creative and resourceful.

But being capable of doing everything does not mean you need to create everything from scratch.

You can use a prepared presentation.

You can begin with a ready-to-use lesson plan.

You can print the rubric instead of spending your evening building one.

You can choose a lesson that is already planned and use your time to adjust it thoughtfully for the students in front of you.

The Artastic Collective exists to help carry some of the invisible work behind teaching art.

You still bring the relationships, encouragement, humour, flexibility, and knowledge of your students.

Those are the parts no resource library can replace.

The membership simply helps make sure you have meaningful lessons ready when you need them.
